1. Data controller
The data controller for avsoft-web.com and the AvSoFt Mod plugin is Antonio Viola. For any question about this policy or the data processed, you can write to: antonioviola.info@gmail.com
2. Data collected by the website
This site only collects aggregate, anonymous usage statistics, never linked to an identifiable person:
- number of visits to the site, broken down by language;
- number of clicks on the download button;
- number of clicks on the "Like" button — a purely entertainment counter, with no limit and no identification of who clicked.
This data is stored as counters that increase with each event (e.g. "today, Italian page, 42 visits") — there is no database row linked to a single visit, no IP address is stored, no browser User-Agent is stored, and no cookie or similar tracking technology is installed on your device. It is therefore not possible, not even for us, to trace who visited the site or reconstruct a single person's browsing path.
3. Data collected by the AvSoFt Mod plugin
Likewise, the plugin sends only aggregate, anonymous statistics to our server:
- number of matches played (daily counter, never linked to a specific user or installation);
- an automatic check of the installed version ("validation check"), which verifies whether that version is still active and whether a newer one is available.
Here too, no device identifier, game account, or player identifier is ever stored — just a number that grows.
4. Legal basis for processing
Since this is aggregate data that doesn't allow identification of any person, it doesn't fall under the definition of "personal data" under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). Its collection is nonetheless based, as a precaution, on the legitimate interest in understanding how the service is used and in offering entertainment features, in order to improve it. No consent is required for this collection, and for the same reason the site does not show a cookie banner.
5. Server technical logs
Like any website, our hosting provider (Aruba S.p.A.) automatically records some technical data on every request (e.g. IP address, date and time, page requested) in standard system logs — a basic technical function of any web server, independent of this site's code, used solely to ensure the security and proper functioning of the systems. These logs are not reviewed by us, cross-referenced with other data, or used to identify visitors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in IT security, and their retention follows the hosting provider's technical policies.
6. No sharing with third parties
We do not sell, share, or transfer any data to third parties for advertising or commercial purposes. We do not use third-party services for statistics (e.g. Google Analytics) — the counters described above are managed entirely on our own server.
7. Donations via PayPal
The "Donate" button takes you directly to the PayPal website, which becomes an independent data controller for any data you enter there (e.g. to complete a payment) — this site never receives or handles that data in any way. For more information, see PayPal's privacy policy.
8. Data retention
The aggregate counters described in points 2 and 3 are kept indefinitely, since — not being personal data — there is no need to define a retention period to protect an identifiable person.
9. Your rights
Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) grants data subjects a series of rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). In practice, since this site does not collect any identifiable personal data, these rights have limited application — but if you believe your personal data has been processed incorrectly, you still have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
